A few words…
When I was 5, I went on a six week road trip with my aunt and uncle to California and up the west coast to Seattle.
My aunt had a Kodak TLR that she carefully held while composing her shots of interesting places along the way. I had an Imperial Mark XII that my parents had bought for me to take along on the trip. My aunt’s words of encouragement for taking pictures were to be still and to hold the camera level.
As you can see in my photos, I still don’t always manage to hold the camera level and the road trip has never ended.
Just Passing Through is an ongoing series of places slowly fading from the American landscape. Skeletons of buildings and relics of times past are my favorite spots.
Randomly found, stealthily pursued and occasionally staged scenes serve as places that become portals for time travel in an obscure way.
They open the imagination to unexpected possibilities.
